Payment Options

Maine Integrative Chiropractic believes in the value of wellness care for you and your family and have maintained a pricing structure that allows care for all insurance or non-insurance needs. Our office participates in most insurance programs. We also accept auto accident and workers compensation cases. For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. To learn more about our payment options for chiropractic care, you can call our office directly.

Insurance

Most insurance plans are accepted at our office. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury and most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Mainecare. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits for your treatment, and we do recommend you check your insurance coverage as well.

Self Pay

If you have no insurance or do not have chiropractic benefits there is still a way for you to receive the care you need. Many patients pay directly for care, as they discover chiropractic to be extremely cost-effective and affordable. Payment options include cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Money order, or certified check.   We also offer a program, ChiroHealth USA  (CHUSA), which allows us to offer reduced prices after you enroll annually for $50. If you have special financial needs, please feel free to discuss this with us and establish an extension of credit terms.

Missed Appointments

if you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, we require sufficient time (24 hours) in order to fill that time slot. If you NO SHOW or do not call in advance, you may be charged a $30 fee. This is at the discretion of Maine Integrative Chiropractic.

First Time Patient

Any first time patient at this office will be required to pay charges for the visit if their insurance deductible has not been met or the visit is not covered by their health insurance. The obligation to pay for medical services may not be deferred for any reason. If the account is referred to any agency for collections, the patient will be responsible for all expenses.

Account Balances

If you have a balance on your account you will receive a monthly statement until the account is paid in full. Bills are due and payable upon receipt of this statement. We will bill your insurance carrier as a courtesy, for you, if you provide us with the appropriate information. Your insurance should make payments directly to this office and you will be responsible for any deductibles, co-payments, and/or other patient balances, this service does not guarantee payment for your treatment. You have an arrangement with your insurance carrier to pay for services rendered. You, or a responsible party, are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred.

Medicare

Medicare will reimburse at 80% of what they allow, minus an annual deductible at the start of every year. Supplemental insurance plans usually cover 20% and follow Medicare’s guidelines for payment. Medicare currently only pays for a Chiropractic adjustment. Medicare does not cover the initial exam, follow up exams, extremity adjustments or any adjunctive procedures such as soft tissue treatments, therapeutic exercises, electric modalities, etc. The patient or responsible party is liable for any such charges if applicable. If x-rays are required, you will be referred to your Primay Care Physician.

MaineCare

MainCare requires a one dollar co-pay at every visit. MaineCare currently pays for a Chiropractic adjustment and your examination. MaineCare does not cover  extremity adjustments or any adjunctive procedures such as soft tissue treatments, therapeutic exercises, electric modalities, etc. The patient or responsible party is liable for any such charges if applicable. If x-rays are required you will be referred to the hospital radiology department, which is covered under MaineCare.
